Caskets Rescued From Burning Funeral Home 1-27-2011

Residents and firefighters have removed caskets and cremated remains from a burning funeral home in Mid-Michigan's Shiawassee County.
The Streeter Funeral Home, at 507 W. Maple St. in Byron, went up in flames Thursday morning.
Owner Ernie Streeter said that there were no pending funerals scheduled for the parlor.
About 15 caskets also were removed from the building down a set of stairs, assembly-line style.
Burns Township Fire Chief Rick Musall said the building "went up pretty quick," and the cause of the fire appears to be electrical.
Fire crews from neighboring departments were called in, as well as the American Red Cross. No injuries have been reported.
Streeter lived with his wife, Diane, in the building. Byron is about 20 miles southwest of Flint.
