Truck Belonging To Auto Dealership Owner Stolen 2-08-2011

The Mel Ervin Ford dealership in Chesaning Township was the target of thieves overnight.
Detectives say someone entered the dealership on M-57, just south of M-52, and stole the owner's pickup truck, along with a 27-foot trailer.
Authorities said inside the trailer were several snowmobiles, which the thieves unloaded and left at the dealership. The thieves then loaded up the trailer with tools and a safe.
“A 2011 Ford F250 was taken, along with a 27-foot black snowmobile trailer,” said Saginaw County Sheriff's Capt. William Gutzwiller. “It has been determined that tools from the business were possibly loaded onto the trailer, as well as the safe from the business.”

As of noon on Tuesday, investigators were still processing the scene.
”We’re looking at an estimated $200,000 worth of tools, equipment, including the truck and trailer,” said Gutzwiller. “We’re asking for any community tips [to help track down] the truck and trailer. Contact the Sheriff’s department at [989]790-5456.”
TV5 also learned the safe contained not only money, but paperwork for all the vehicles on the lot and payroll information.
Gutzwiller said investigators hope to use video surveillance from surrounding businesses to help identify those responsible for the theft.
