7 Puppies Found Left For Dead In Plastic Bag 2-10-2011

Someone abandoned seven puppies in sub-zero temperatures. Now those pups are being nursed back to health, and the clinic doing the nursing says you can help by adopting one of them.
Meet the Seven Dwarfs, the nickname given to the little bundles of joy squirming around at an animal hospital in Saginaw Township.
"Right now they're actually in very good shape; we were surprised when they came in to us that they had [just] a little bit of dehydration," said Animal Alley Veterinary Hospital Dr. John J. VanDaele.
Earlier this week, a man was snowplowing a parking lot in Saginaw when he noticed a plastic bag that was moving next to a Dumpster. Turns out it was the pups, who, as far as the vet can tell, have at least a little bit of boxer in them.
A woman named Sarah Farrand put the news out on Facebook, and from there, Animal Alley took in the pups and the staff nursed them back to health.

"We didn't find any fleas, or any external parasites at all,” said VanDaele. “We've wormed them for internal parasites and that night they started eating for us pretty well, so we're happy with the way they look right now."
A woman who works with an animal rescue organization said there's no need to dump dogs or other creatures in sub-zero temps.
"It's cruel; it's just the nastiest thing that you could do to an animal,” said Becky Oslund, with Halfway Home Canine Rescue & Training. “There are shelters, there's rescues that try to help out whenever we can. Of course, this is a time of year when we're overrun, but we try and help when we can."
The pups should be ready to go to someone's home in a few weeks, but you can stake your claim for them now. Contact VanDaele’s animal hospital at 989-792-4800 or visit them at 7319 Tittabawassee Road, Suite 2 in Saginaw, Mich.
