Jason Fielder Aims High In Charity Archery Event 2-10-2011

I represented WNEMTV5 this morning in the annual Bronner's Hot Shot Archery Contest featuring local media "celebrities."
The winner got a check for just over $1000 dollars for a charity of his/her choice. I was playing for the CAN council, and sadly, did not win the contest.
Each contestant took 3 shots at a target using a rubber tipped arrow. I missed the target on my 1st try, hit near the bullseye for a 100 point score on my 2nd try, then missed the target again on my 3rd try.

My "mad skills" kept me from advancing to the final round, but I probably would have lost there anyways, as Tom Lounsbury from the Tuscola County Advertiser was on fire with the bow (hmm...a guy from the thumb good at shooting bow and arrow, imagine that....).
Although I didn't win, I still had a great time, and would like to thank Bronner's Christmas Wonderland for all their hospitality in hosting the event, especially Bronner's Communications Assistant, Lori Libka.
Four broadcast celebrities and one special guest competed in the archery shoot:
  • Jason Fielder with WNEM TV5 for the Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) Council.
  • Scott Wenzel with The Frankenmuth News for the Frankenmuth Relay for Life/American Cancer Society.
  • Johnny Burke from WHNN for the Johnny Burke Children’s Foundation.
  • Tom Lounsbury with the Tuscola County Advertiser for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Tuscola County.
  • Katie Morin with The Saginaw News for the CAN Council and First Ward Community Center.
  • Peter Brooks with 997 Family Life Radio for Youth Haven Ranch.
  • Troy Beulla for Larry Elliott with WJRT TV12 for the Frankenmuth International Aid Foundation.
Tony Beulla, Tom Lounsbury and Katie Morin advanced to the final round. Lounsbury finished in the top spot, winning a check from Bronner’s for $1,014 for Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Tuscola County. Beulla finished second
The Hot Shot Local Media Celebrity Archery Contest kicked off Bronner’s Be My Valentine Sale. Guests receive 14 percent off most in-store purchases $14 and over throughout the month of February.
