Student Count Day Reflects Local Gains, Losses 2-10-2011

Student count numbers are in and many Saginaw County schools are taking a hit.
Enrollment dropped by more than 300 students in the Saginaw schools. And they weren't the only ones.
Saginaw Township, Chesaning, and Frankenmuth schools are among the districts with fewer students this school year.
But some districts are seeing gains, including Carrollton. It had more than 120 new students enrolled in 2011.
Count day is critical for schools because each student that’s counted brings in more than $7,000 in state funds.
