Owner Ordered To Stand Trial In Dog Biting Case 2-18-2011

An 8-year-old Bay City boy testified in court Thursday about the moment he was mauled by a pit bull when walking home from a friend’s home Jan. 4.
Cameron P. Everette received 100 stitches to repair the damage from the attack.
Harry R. McDaniel, the 63-year-old Bay City man who owned the dog, Big Boy, has been charged with one count of keeping a dangerous animal causing serious injury, a four-year felony.
During the hearing, the judge found enough evidence for McDaniel to stand trial. Prosecutors and defense attorneys will now debate whether McDaniel did enough to prevent his dog from attacking someone.
McDaniel has apologized to the Everette family.
His next court date is pending.
