MEDC President Speaks At Saginaw Future 2-18-2011

Saginaw Future celebrated its 19th annual Awards Luncheon Friday with Michael A. Finney, president and CEO for the Michigan Economic Development Corporation, serving as the keynote speaker.
Finney, who is also the former Saginaw City manager, spoke about the new economic development policies for the state and his plans to help Gov. Rick Snyder implement his economic policies.
Prior to taking the helm at MEDC, Finney served as president and CEO of Ann Arbor SPARK, a public-private partnership whose mission is to advance innovation-based economic development.
He also served as assistant city manager in Saginaw.
Also during the luncheon, Saginaw Future honored 34 projects valued at more than $181 million that created and retained more than 710 jobs in 2010.
The Saginaw Future Annual Awards Luncheon as held at The Dow Event Center, 303 Johnson in downtown Saginaw.
More than 400 people attended the event.
