Wind Advisory Issued For All Of Mid-Michigan 2-18-2011

The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for much of west and northern lower Michigan and the Upper Peninsula.
Right now, 22 counties in the TV5 viewing area are affected until 2 a.m. Saturday.

First Warn 5 Map: Current Wind Speeds

National Weather Service officials say the advisory will remain in effect between noon Friday and midnight.
Sustained winds of about 30 mph are expected, with gusts up to 45 mph.
“These westerly winds will continue into the afternoon," TV5 meteorologist Mike Cameron said. "These winds will slowly subside this evening and overnight.”
Officials say the gusts can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles on north-south roads.

Today: Mostly sunny, with a steady temperature around 38. Breezy, with a west wind between 21 and 26 mph, with gusts as high as 38 mph.
Tonight: Partly cloudy, with a low around 21. Breezy, with a west northwest wind between 18 and 22 mph, with gusts as high as 33 mph.
Saturday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 34. Northwest wind between 10 and 17 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph.
