Roads Still Slick With Layer Of Ice Under Snow 2-21-2011

While the plow trucks have been working overtime to clear snow from roads, TV5 is taking reports of icy conditions underneath the plowed snow.
Reporter and anchor Bill Walsh commented via Twitter on his commute into work that he was surprised at the conditions, especially since the snow had tapered off hours before.
Walsh also reported a crash on Tittabawassee Road between the Fashion Square Mall and I-675. He tweeted that the accident didn’t look terribly serious.

Between 3 p.m. Sunday and noon Monday, Saginaw County Central Dispatch says officers responded to 77 accidents, none of them serious.
"Besides the dangerous road surfaces, wind conditions are concerning me," said TV5 Meteorologist Catherine Bodak. "Winds this evening could gust up to 25 miles per hour, leading to blowing and drifting snow. The combination of the decrease in visibility and slippery surfaces could make driving a challenge."
Bodak says temperatures will be below normal on Tuesday, but close to normal on Wednesday. Friday the region should warm up into the mid-30s.
