Interstate 75 Reopens Following Morning Crashes 2-22-2011

Interstate 75 between Birch Run and Clio has reopened after being shut down earlier this morning following multiple crashes.
Saginaw County Central Dispatch said 30 traffic crashes were reported Tuesday morning along the stretch of roadway.
Authorities reopened the highway about 11:25 a.m.
One of the crashes involved a motorist who slammed into a fire truck that was responding to a previous crash near mile-maker 136 in Birch Run.
Saginaw County 911 Communications Authority Director Tom McIntyre first issued an advisory at about 8 a.m., asking motorists to avoid that section of the road.
Saginaw County Central Dispatch said 71 crashes have been reported since midnight, seven of which had passengers suffering from injuries.
