Lost Wallet Containing $200 Returned To Owner 2-25-2011

A Good Samaritan who stumbled upon a wallet walked into a state police post to return it.
The man who made the discovery dropped it off at the Bay City Michigan State Police post on Friday.
The man, who declined to be identified, told police, “I would want my wallet returned as it is the right thing to do. Hopefully, the owner is located soon.”
The wallet not only contained personal information and identification, but also had $200 cash.
The owner was promptly located and the wallet was turned over.
“It’s not often we have a wallet turned in, especially one with all of the contents undisturbed,” said Sgt. Lance Cook, who returned the item to its owner. “I was impressed with the gesture, which always renews faith in our community.”
The owner of the wallet, who also did not want to be identified, was extremely thankful and said he would have offered a reward for its return.
“It sure is comforting to know there are still good people walking among us, who selflessly react and do what is right,” said the owner.
