Coal Train Derails In Essexville; No Injuries 2-28-2011

Authorities are investigating after a train derailed early Monday morning in Essexville.
It happened at about 3 a.m.
Bay City police said the train is owned by Saginaw Bay Southern Railroad and was carrying coal. About six cars came off the track.

The derailment has closed Borton Avenue. Drivers in that area are asked to find an alternate route.
No word yet on what caused the derailment.
