Puppies Found Abandoned, Tied To Stop Sign 3-09-2011

Two dogs were found abandoned and tied to a stop sign in Midland County on Monday night, but luckily they're in good shape.
Now the woman caring for the animals is looking to put them in a good home.
The two male puppies, believed to be a springer-spaniel mix, both about 6 months old, were found Monday night tied to a stop sign at M-20 and MacGruder road in rural Midland County.
It’s the second abandoned dog story TV5 has covered in this area in the last week.
Someone saw the dogs and called the Midland County Sheriff's department and a deputy picked the dogs up. The Humane Society was closed so the sheriff asked Sue Kocisky to take them in.
Eventually the dogs were taken to the Humane Society for an evaluation, but Kocisky will keep them until a home for them is found. It’s not known how long the dogs were tied to the stop sign.
When the dogs were found, they were thin from hunger and they seemed frightened. Kocisky said the pups are doing much better now.
The two dogs can't be given away until next week. The Humane Society has a 7-day waiting period in case the dogs were lost and the rightful owner wants to claim them.
