'The Verve Pipe' To Play Local Show For Children 3-10-2011

The East Lansing-based rock band The Verve Pipe will be doing two shows Saturday night at the State Theater in Bay City.
The first show, at 3 p.m., is for children and families and will feature music off of the group’s Family Album.
The second show is set for 7:30 p.m. and will be more rock-based, with special guest Avery Set, who live in Nashville but are Frankenmuth natives.
The Family Album is a 10-track, 30-minute CD, released in late 2009 specifically for children. It is also available on iTunes.
“I think people will hear a great night of music,” said Donny Brown, the group’s drummer. “We’re going to play a couple of new songs too. We may even mix in some of the Family Album songs into the rock show.”
The Verve Pipe will also be headlining the Kansas City Jingle Jam, nation’s largest children’s music festival at the end of May.
The band will also be playing the Hangout Music Festival, a three-day music festival with Paul Simon and The Foo Fighters.
