Ice Covered Roads Blamed In Fatal Morning Crash 3-11-2011

A woman is dead after a weather-related crash in Genesee Township, just south of Mount Morris.
The crash happened just before 7:30 a.m. Friday on Stanley Road, east of North Saginaw Street.
According to Genesee Township Police, a 49-year-old woman lost control of her car due to extremely icy conditions and was struck by an oncoming vehicle.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name has not been released.
The other driver is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Genesee County had about a dozen car accidents during the Friday morning commute due to slick road conditions after the region saw a heavy dusting of snow.
