MSU To Ban Bags From Spartan Stadium 3-17-2011

EAST LANSING, Mich.Michigan State University officials say no bags of any kind -- including purses, diaper bags or camera cases -- will be allowed for football games this fall at Spartan Stadium.
The Lansing State Journal reported that the bag ban, which was announced Wednesday, goes into effect the day of Michigan State's first home game Sept. 3.
MSU Police Sgt. Florene McGlothian Taylor said in a statement that inspecting bags and other items as fans enter the stadium can be a time-consuming process. She said the new policy will lead to a safer environment and keep lines moving more quickly.
The only exception to the new policy will be for fans with a "medical or family need" who will be allowed to carry a clear, one-gallon Ziploc bag.
