Efforts Continue To Reopen Standish Prison 3-21-2011

Efforts are ongoing to reopen the Standish maximum security prison.
The Bay City Times reported the Standish city manager wants to work with Rep. Dan Benishek, R-Mich., to get the facility back up and running.
Benishek could tour the prison next month, but said he's waiting for updates from Gov. Rick Snyder before coming to Michigan for a visit.
Benishek represents Michigan’s first district, stretching from the western Upper Peninsula down to just north of Saginaw.
The prison, which employed about 300 people, closed in 2009.
