Sheriff: Robber Leaves Cellphone At Crime Scene 3-23-2011

A robbery suspect gave police a major clue Monday when he left his cell phone at the scene of the crime.
Deputies from the Clare County Sheriff’s Department were called about a home burglary on North Clarwin Road in Hamilton Township.
Following an investigation, deputies determined the thieves took a flat screen television, golf clubs, hunting and fishing equipment and jewelry.
The next day, the homeowner discovered a cell phone inside their house that did not belong to them.
According to a news release, the cell phone was traced back to a Sanford resident. That person, 19-year-old Casey Fowler, was then arrested on home invasion and larceny charges.
Deputies said some of the stolen property was recovered and returned to the owner. A second person is still being investigated for ties to the robbery.
Clare County Sheriff John S. Wilson said Fowler is being held at the Clare County Jail with bail set at $60,000.
