It was a busy day for police and emergency responders after Mid-Michigan saw snow, sleet and ice in different accumulations across the region.
Saginaw County 911 said authorities responded to 40 vehicle crashes by 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday. None of them resulted in serious injuries.
TV5 Chief Meteorologist Darrin Bradley said the region was very close to receiving a heavy coating of ice, but for the most part, the storm was a snow event.
Bradley said Saginaw saw 3.5 inches of snow, 5.8 inches in Auburn, 4 inches in Flint, 7 inches in Bad Ax, 10 inches in Omer and 6 inches in West Branch.
TV5 photographer Dale Ruff snapped two pictures showing U.S. 10 between Midland and Bay City around 4 p.m.
At that time, emergency crews were working to pull several cars and trucks out of ditches along the highway.
