4 Of 5 Bronner's Vandals Sentenced To Jail Time 3-31-2011

A judge has sentenced four men who admitted to damaging displays outside a popular Mid-Michigan Christmas-themed store to summer jail time.
The judge on Thursday ordered Ryan Buchler, Branden Dean, and Caleb and Samuel Quintanilla to spend three months in the Saginaw County Jail, followed by three years probation. It was initially believed the men would not see any jail time.
Their sentences start the day before Memorial Day. The Genesee Township men range in age from 17 to 20. They must also complete 150 hours of community service.
They pleaded guilty to malicious destruction of property and conspiracy and paid their shares of more than $18,000 in damage done Christmas morning at Bronner's Christmas Wonderland in Frankenmuth. More than 50 figurines were damaged. Frankenmuth authorities said much of the damage was done with a baseball bat.
A fifth defendant, 21-year-old Nickolas Bright, has pleaded not guilty to the charges. The Saginaw News reported Bright is continuing to negotiate with prosecutors.
