Massive Pothole Reported On I-75; Cars Sidelined 4-04-2011

A monster pothole on southbound Interstate 75 damaged several vehicles Monday morning in Bay County
Witnesses said nearly a dozen motorists were stranded after hitting the pothole on the freeway, just north of I-675 near the Crane Road overpass.
The section of roadway is also in a construction zone.
Motorist Ellen Mook told TV5 the driving hazard went undetected becuase it was still dark outside during the morning commute. She said its going to cost her $300 to repair tire damages done by the pothole.
A single lane will remain open on southbound I-75 to accommodate emergency repair work, Michigan Department of Transportation officials said
Drivers can put in a claim of damages valued less than $1,000, according to MDOT.
