Gas Prices Make Jump To $3.89 In Mid-Michigan 4-04-2011

Many in Michigan noticed a significant jump at the pump Sunday.
Average retail gasoline prices in Michigan have risen 15 to 21 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $3.79 a gallon. Many stations in Mid-Michigan are even higher, selling gasoline at $3.89.
This compares with the national average that has increased 7.4 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.64 a gallon, according to gasoline price website MichiganGasPrices.com.
Including the change in gas prices in Michigan during the past week, prices Sunday were 97.5 cents per gallon higher than the same day one year ago and are 26.4 cents per gallon higher than a month ago.
Locally, it’s one of the highest prices since September of 2008 when gas rose above four dollars per gallon.
The national average has increased 17.6 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 79.3 cents per gallon higher than one year ago.
