Thousands Gather To Honor Fallen Trooper 4-09-2011

Funeral services for a Michigan state police troooper who died on Wednesday following a rollover crash near Birch Run are being held on in Gladwin on Saturday.
Authorities said 43-year-old Jeffrey Werda was responding to a call for backup early Wednesday when he apparently lost control and crashed in Saginaw County's Taymouth Township.
Troopers from the Bridgeport Outpost where Werda was stationed will be attending to honor their fallen comrade and mourn his loss.
Officials in Saginaw County said that the law enforcement will still remain strong during the funeral, with the help of Huron County deputies
"It's an offer we can't refuse" said Saginaw County Sheriff Bill Federspiel, of the loan of Huron County deputies who will be patrolling in Saginaw during the day.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Gladwin High School, with visitation at the school an hour before services.
