Gas Prices Could Help Boost Local Tourism 4-12-2011

Motorists are feeling the pain at the pump once again.
Drivers saw a 25 cent hike in 24 hours on Monday. Now gas is hovering close to $4 for a gallon of unleaded.
Prices have been predicted to hit $5 a gallon by Memorial Day.
But some are looking on the bright side. Experts said Mid-Michigan residents won't travel as much and will spend their money right here in the region.
Officials from local tourist attractions like Frankenmuth said the gas hike has people flooding the area.
RVer's are also expected to put off long trips and stay closer to home due to high fuel costs.
A report said for the fifth straight week demand for fuel has dropped. Experts say that means Americans are driving only when they "have" to.
