Tea Party Holds Tax Rally At Michigan Capitol 4-14-2011

About 300 tea party supporters and anti-tax advocates waved signs and booed Democratic President Barack Obama during a rally at the Michigan Capitol.
Americans for Prosperity-Michigan hosted the Thursday rally, which included speeches by potential presidential candidate Herman Cain, author and commentator Dick Morris, Secretary of State Ruth Johnson and Attorney General Bill Schuette.
The protesters called for less spending and lower taxes.
The rally came a day after more than 5,000 people including union members jammed the Capitol lawn to protest Gov. Rick Snyder's policies.
They criticized the GOP governor for raising taxes on seniors and the poor while giving businesses a substantial tax break.
Several people at Thursday's rally held up anti-union signs, and Morris said unions have "destroyed" Michigan.
Some also criticized Snyder for moving to tax some retirees' income.
