Mid-Michigan Residents Against Drain Project 4-14-2011

Mid-Michigan Residents Packed Albee Townships Hall Thursday night to voice their opinion on a drain project that could cost them thousands of dollars.
The attendees were all residents of Saginaw, Shiawassee and Genesee counties who would have to pay for a proposal to fix a twenty-three mile man made ditch known as the Misteguay Creek Intercounty Drain.
Some officials from the drain commission estimate that the cost of the repairs could rise to as much as $9 million.
The residents agree repairs are needed, but feel the price tag is too steep.
So many people packed the hall to voice their opinion against the proposal that the meeting had to be adjourned due to overcrowding.
Officials say the meeting will be rescheduled, but no date has been announced.
