Doc's Lawyer, Prosecutors Talking Plea Deal 4-15-2011

A lawyer said he's talking to prosecutors about a possible plea deal for a Saginaw doctor facing drug charges in two cases.
The disclosure was made Friday in a court filing by attorney Carl Marlinga and the U.S. attorney's office, a day after Dr. Ruth Buck was ordered to stay in jail.
Buck was free awaiting trial in a case involving prescription painkillers when she was charged last week with aiding the distribution of marijuana.
Investigators said Buck has certified about 1,900 people for medical marijuana during visits that cost at least $150.
Marlinga and Assistant U.S. Attorney Shane Waller are asking a federal judge to postpone a court hearing while they work on a possible deal to close both cases.
