Survey Shows Optimism in Mich. Over Economy 4-15-2011

Michigan residents are feeling a bit more optimistic about their short-term economic future. A survey released Friday by Michigan State University says 60 percent of residents indicated they think they will be better off a year from now.
That's the highest level of optimism recorded in the survey since 2004.
About 23 percent expect to be worse off and about 17 percent expect to be about the same.
The survey was conducted from Feb. 12 to March 29. The survey including 979 interviews with adults has a sampling margin of error of plus or minus 3.1 percentage points.
Michigan's unemployment rate edged downward to 10.3 percent in March.
That's down from 13.3 percent a year ago.
