School: Substitute Teacher Assaulted By Parent 4-21-2011

An elementary substitute teacher in Flint was assaulted by a parent in front of a classroom full of students Monday, according to a Flint school official.
School spokesman Bob Campbell told WNEM TV5 the incident occurred at Carpenter Road Elementary School -- on the city's northeast side.
According to Campbell, a female parent walked directly into the fifth-grade classroom and confronted the teacher. Campbell said that’s when the parent apparently hit the teacher in the face.
Flint police and Flint School District security were immediately called in. A police report has also been filed, according to Campbell.
Campbell said the woman entered the building without checking into the main office.
The teacher was not identified, but we're told has been a longtime substitute for the district.
Campbell said the parent has four children in the district and was apparently upset over what she felt was unfair discipline of her child in the classroom.
The teacher was not seriously injured.
