The Saginaw Sting were unable to take advantage of an opportunity to tie for first-place in the UIFL standings Saturday night, falling to the Northern Kentucky River Monsters 64-56.
River Monster QB Jared Lorenzen threw for 327 yards and 7 touchdowns as Northern Kentucky improved to 8-1 on the season.
Saginaw fell to 6-3 and are now two games behind the River Monsters for first-place but will have a chance to avenge the loss when these two teams meet at the Dow Events Center on Friday, May 6.
The Sting now return home to play the Johnstown Generals on Friday, April 29.
Saginaw has won both meetings on the season.
