Abandoned Stevie Wonder Tribute May Be Moved 4-25-2011

Meet local businessman David R. Gamez, 70, president and chief executive officer of Health Delivery Inc.
Gamez has plans to move and improve an abandoned monument on Saginaw's Northeast side that honors Saginaw-born Motown legend Stevie Wonder.
He wants to move the monument to a park adjacent to his building at 501 Lapeer and East Genesee.
“Stevie Wonder is synonymous with Saginaw, Mich.,” Gamez said. “I’m sure this park would be an excellent place to put it.”
It should be fairly easy to dismantle the monument, for example part of it is coming apart literally at the seams.
Gamez hopes to get the ball rolling soon on his plan, he told WNEM TV5 he will go before the Saginaw City Council to discuss it, along with Downtown Development Corporation and Saginaw Pride.
Games also said a coalition of businesses should be able to come together to move the monument so it wouldn’t cost any taxpayer dollars.
