Slain Police Officers Remembered 20 Years Later 4-26-2011

A memorial was held Tuesday in Bay City 20 years to the day after two of the city's officers were gunned down.
Bay City police Officers Raymond P. Rexer and Terry J. Jablonski responded to a neighborhood disturbance that day on April 26, 1991.
When the two officers arrived at the scene, they were ambushed by two brothers and were shot. One of the officers died instantly, and the other passed away the next day.
The trigger man, John Knapp, is currently serving a life sentence.
Rexer, 37, was a married father of two and a 14-year police veteran. Jablonski, 44, was a father of two and engaged to be married for a second time
On Tuesday, family and friends gathered at a Bay City park named after the officers.
