Saginaw River Sees 20M Gallon Sewage Overflow 4-27-2011

Authorities said weekend rainfall caused more than 20 million gallons of partially treated sewage and groundwater to overflow into the Saginaw River.
The Bay City Times said information about the overflow from four retention basins was from a report from the Bay City Wastewater Treatment Plant.
The rain fell on Saturday morning. Tests for E. coli came in below levels that can trigger a contamination advisory.
A further half inch of rain is expected in the region Tuesday, with another half-inch expected Tuesday night.
