Kerosene Lamp Overturns, Fire Kills Boys 4-28-2011

Authorities say a kerosene lamp overturned at a northern Michigan farmhouse house, starting a fire that killed two young boys.
A Mecosta County sheriff's sergeant said the boys were 2 years and 10 months old and were alone in their bedroom when the fire started Wednesday morning.
Sgt. Mike Mohr said the parents were in a barn tending their animals.
Mohr says the sheriff's department got a fire call about 7:45 a.m. and said the house was engulfed in flames when fire crews arrived.
He said firefighters quickly extinguished the blaze and found the bodies of two boys inside the house.
He declined to immediately release their names.
The house is in Mecosta Township, about 45 miles north-northeast of Grand Rapids.
