Green Bay Packers cornerback Charles Woodson is getting his own day thanks to a hospital at his alma mater.
Patients, hospital staff and others at the University of Michigan C.S. Mott Children's Hospital are to show their appreciation for the former Heisman Trophy winner during "Charles Woodson Day" on Thursday.
He's to accept the first Mott Champions for Children Award at the hospital.
Woodson then is to visit patient floors and pass out Mott bears wearing Charles Woodson T-shirts.
The former Wolverines standout has given his time and money to the school's Champions for Children campaign to build the new Mott Children's Hospital, which opens in November.
