Dogs Rescued From Tittabawassee Floodwaters 4-29-2011

It was a race against time for fire crews in Midland after they were called in to rescue man’s best friend, and the event was recorded by neighbors.
Rescue crews had to work quickly to save two dogs trapped in a kennel near the Tittabawassee River.
The Midland woman who took the video didn't want TV5 to use her name, but she caught the whole thing on tape. On Thursday, she took her son to see the river, and they soon found that two dogs were in trouble.
“The two dogs were trying so hard for about a half hour on top of the roof of the doghouse,” said the unidentified Midland woman. “They had fallen into the water again. They were just whining for their owner, but he was nowhere to be found.”
The two dogs inside the kennel made it out safely, thanks to the rescuers and a raft.
“There were probably 20 of us just rooting for the dogs to get out of the kennel,” said the Midland woman.
The whole ordeal was captured on camera by bystanders who then heckled the dogs' owner for not acting more quickly to help the dogs.
