Flint Home Destroyed By Early-Morning Fire 5-02-2011

A home was destroyed by an early-morning fire in Flint Monday.
Fire crews were called to the home on MLK Avenue and Josephine just after 5 a.m.
Fire officials said it was completely destroyed.
"Crews arrived to find a two story house that was fully involved and spreading to an occupied house next door,” said Flint Fire Battalion Chief Andy Graves. “We had a serious challenge moving a hospital bed-ridden woman out of that house. It took pretty herculean efforts from six firefighters and a couple of civilians and an ambulance crew to safely get her out of that building."
Another fire was reported in the same block later Monday morning, Flint Central Dispatch told TV5.
The road was closed to traffic as fire crews combed the area.
