2-Vehicle Crash Injures 2 In Isabella County 5-02-2011

The Isabella County Sheriff’s Department was called to a two-car accident on Broomfield Roadd at Isabella Road at 4:55 p.m. Sunday.
Officers found that a 2004 Saturn driven by 21-year-old Jessica Michelle Bustamante, of Mount Pleasant, was involved in a crash with a 2001 Pontiac driven by 21-year-old Kimberly Hawksworth, also of Mount Pleasant.
Police said Bustamante was traveling east on Broomfield Road when she ran a red light at Isabella Road and broadsided a car driven by Hawksworth, who had been northbound on Isabella Road and was in the process of making a left turn onto Broomfield Road.
Sheriff's department officials said Bustamante had three passengers with her. They were Jacqueline and Heaven Wemigwans, ages 23 and 21, of Mount Pleasant, and Nicholas Vasquez, 25, of Mount Pleasant. Officers said Vasquez was flown by LifeNet to Covenant Health Care in Saginaw with life-threatening injuries.
Hawksworth was transported to Central Michigan Community Hospital for a possible leg injury. Authorities said the extent of injuries to Vasquez is unknown. The other individuals refused treatment.
Sheriff Leo Mioduszewski said everyone involved was wearing seat belts, but that Bustamante may have been under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. Mioduszewski said they were not found in Hawksworth's system.
