Detroit Restaraunt Rivalry Turns Violent 5-03-2011

Two brothers who own a suburban Detroit restaurant have been charged with assault with intent to commit murder after authorities said they used an aluminum bat to beat the owner of a rival Italian eatery that recently expended across the street.
Macomb County Prosecutor Eric Smith announced charges Monday against 58-year-old Giuseppe D'Anna and 46-year-old Girolamo D'Anna.
The owners of Tirami Su in Shelby Township were arraigned Friday.
Authorities said the brothers attacked Nonna's owner late Thursday.
A hearing is May 16.
Giupseppe D'Anna's lawyer James Thomas described the case to The Detroit News as "essentially a family dispute" and said his client pleaded not guilty.
Girolamo D'Anna's lawyer Vincenzo Manzella was awaiting a copy of a police report.
The Detroit Free Press reports Nonna's owner was recovering.
