The store owner was taken away by police in handcuffs at about 1:30 p.m. while WNEM TV5 cameras were rolling at the scene. He is expected to be charged with fraud. His name was not released.
Federspiel said thousands of dollars in cash and stolen property were also confiscated during the raid. In all, the man's scheme defrauded welfare programs out of as much as $320,000, Federspiel said.
About a year and half ago, investigators served a search warrant to the man on similar charges at another party store he owned on Saginaw’s east side.
