Homeowner, Robber Shot During Home Invasion 5-06-2011

A homeowner and a would-be robber both suffered life-threatening injuries in a scuffle during a home invasion in Flint late Thursday night, police said.
The incident happened just before 10 p.m. in the 1900 block of Flushing Road near Ballenger Park.
Police said a 48-year-old Andre Miller, his fiancé and teenage son were inside the home when three men, at least one of whom was armed, broke in.
Police said Miller tried to fight one of the burglars when a gun was fired -- more than once. A bullet hit Miller and a suspect, who’s been identified as 26-year-old Mark Kemp.
Both men were taken to Hurley Medical Center and were last listed in critical condition.
Police said the other two would-be robbers fled the resident’s home in a silver vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Flint Police Department.
