The Great Lakes Loons have beaten the Lansing Lugnuts 4-2 in a game that started at 10:35 a.m. Thursday.
Loons starter Ryan Christenson (4-1, 3.47 ERA) pitched five and a third strong innings, giving up only one run and striking out six batters.
Drew Hutchison was the hard luck loser for the Lugnuts giving up three runs, one earned in four and two-thirds innings of work.
Lansing fielders accounted for seven errors in the loss.
With the win, the Loons opened up a one and a half game lead over Lansing in the Midwest League's Eastern Division.
These two teams now travel to Lansing to open up a three game series on Friday.
