Surveillance Video Catches Burglar In Action 5-18-2011

Saginaw Police are asking for the public’s help to track down a man they say is behind a string of break-ins.
Authorities said they managed to get some useful information during the course of their investigation after the burglar was caught on surveillance cameras.
"Their video surveillance did capture a still photo of him, and possibly his vehicle," said Saginaw Police Detective Joe Dutoi.
The still shot was captured at the Family Dollar Store on Sheridan Road, one of three business hit in a recent series of break-ins. A Laundromat on Webber was another.
"It looks like a desperate criminal trying to gain something real quick, real fast, in a small area of town," said Dutoi.
Ron Enciso's store on South Washington Ave. was also targeted by a burglar. It is only about two miles from the Family Dollar.
"You know, the way the economy is right now, I do not need this," said Enciso.
The burglar never made it into Enciso’s store. "It looked like a hammer, he hit it twice, shattered and he couldn't get in. It's like hitting a brick wall," said Enciso. "The glass is so thick; that's the reason we have the thick glass, for situations like that."
Enciso calls the damage a nuisance. "Something like this cost between three and four hundred dollars to fix."
Police said they aren't sure if the suspect in the photos committed all three crimes, but they have a solid lead to find that out.
"At two of the locations we were able to find blood, so we were able to seize that. We sent it to the crime lab for analysis," said Dutoi.
Anyone who recognizes the person is in the surveillance video is asked to call Detective Randy Mudd at 989-759-1605.
