Man Charged, Accused Of Barking At Police Dog 5-18-2011

Prosecutors have charged a 19-year-old Buena Vista Township man for barking at a police dog.
Buena Vista Township Police officers say Dominique Smith barked at Zeus as the dog assisted an officer during a traffic stop in the parking lot of the Liquor Basket store on St. Patrick’s Day.
Smith’s mother said the German shepherd barked at her son first, but police denied the claim.

VOTE: Do you think the man should have been charged for barking at a police dog?

Smith could face up to a year in jail and a $5,000 fine if convicted of harassing a police dog.
A pretrial conference is set for May 26.
