Flint, Detroit Top FBI's Most Violent Cities List 5-24-2011

Flint is the most violent city in the country, followed by Detroit, according to preliminary 2010 crime statistics released by the FBI.
Flint showed an increase in each violent crime category in 2010 compared to 2009, with more than 2,400 violent crimes being reported -- the most per capita of any city more than 100,000.
"There will never be enough officers to sit at every kitchen table and stop these conflicts from escalating into violence," Flint Mayor Dayne Walling said. "Let this be a reminder of how much work there is to do to keep our families and neighborhoods safe."
The top 5 for violent crime is Flint, Detroit, St. Louis, New Haven, Conn. and Memphis, Tenn.
Uniform Crime Reports released Monday’s list.
The FBI reports a 5.5 percent drop in violent crimes nationally in 2010.
