Man Takes Plea Deal In Boy's Dog Mauling Case 5-24-2011

A plea deal was reached Tuesday in the trial of a Bay City man accused of owning a pit bull that attacked a child.
Harry McDaniel pleaded guilty to a four-year felony in connection with the attack on an 8-year-old boy.
The incident happened in Bay City when Cameron Everett was walking home from a friend’s house in January, and the dog pounced on him. Everett required more than 100 stitches to his leg.
“I looked at his leg and it was just chewed up like hamburger meat,” said Cameron’s stepfather, Joe Hill at the time of the attack.
McDaniel faced charges of owning a dangerous animal causing serious injury, after prosecutors said his dog attacked Cameron. Everett’s mother told TV5 after the incident that she didn’t want to see McDaniel go to prison.
McDaniel could see 1 year in jail and probation when he’s sentenced at a future date.
