Teen Makes Threats With Knife Outside School 5-24-2011

The Saginaw County sheriff says a teenager armed with a knife was taken into custody after threatening a student at Willie E. Thompson Middle School in Saginaw.
Authorities told TV5 the 15-year-old boy was waving around a knife with a 4- to 5-inch blade and was making threats.
The incident happened around 3 p.m. Tuesday when the boy, who is not a student at the school, was spotted on campus waving a knife and threatening a student.
The victim the boy was threatening is a student at the school.
Sheriff Bill Federspiel said the situation stemmed from a previous incident that started off campus. A nearby deputy handling traffic enforcement was the first to respond to the call.
“My deputy gives chase, nearly one half of a city block, through yards and over fences,” said Federspiel. “[He was] finally able to corner the suspect. My deputy [had] him at gunpoint; the suspect [was] threatening to kill my deputy. The deputy [was] able to take the suspect into custody and no one was injured.”
The teenager is being held at the Saginaw County Juvenile Center, and he’s facing felonious assault and resisting an officer charges.
