A 1-year-old Michigan boy was in serious condition after falling more than a dozen feet from a second-floor window at a Port Huron apartment complex.

The Times Herald of Port Huron reported Sunday that the boy was being treated at the University of Michigan's C.S. Mott Children's Hospital.

Police said the boy was unconscious when emergency medical workers arrived Sunday morning at the Village Manor complex.

The boy is believed to have climbed atop a plastic box and onto a window sill before he tumbled through a screen.

The boy's mother and 3-year-old brother were in the apartment at the time of the fall.
