Man sought in connection to teen's assault

Posted: Updated:

The Shiawassee County Sheriff's office is asking for the public's help tracking down a man wanted for questioning in connection to an assault that occurred on April 21 in Caledonia Township.

On Monday, a 17-year-old told authorities that in April, she was approached by a man while walking on Elizabeth Drive near Big Bear Drive.

She told sheriff's deputies the man initially had a pleasant demeanor and walked with her until reaching a wooded area. Upon reaching the woods, the teenager said the man assaulted her and then fled on food in an unknown direction. The victim was able to escape with minor injuries.

Authorities are looking for a man in his late teens or early 20s, standing 5 feet 10 inches to 6 feet tall, with a thin but fit build. The victim also said the man was clean shaven with shorter spiked blonde hair. He was described as wearing a tight white Under Armor-type running shirt, dark running shorts and running shoes that were primarily white in color.

Anyone with information on the man is asked to contact Detective David Kirk with the Shiawassee County Sheriff's Department at 989-743-2202.
