Police probe rash of medical business burglaries

Posted: Updated:

Frankenmuth Police are investigating a string of burglaries involving local businesses.

The first was called in on June 2 when an employee opened the business and discovered the property had been burglarized.  The business was located in the 500 block of Franklin Street.  The second call followed in the 600 block of Franklin Street.  Over the next 36 hours, police said additional reports were received from several other businesses on Franklin and the 1000 block of Weiss Street.

Authorities said all the businesses have been connected to the medical field services.

At this time all are believed to be connected based on the circumstances and forensic evidence collected at the scenes.  Investigators believe these burglaries may be linked to recent burglaries in Birch Run Township and the Village of Birch Run. Police did not say what items, if any, were taken from the businesses.

The burglaries are believed to have occurred between 6:00 p.m. and 1:00 a.m.
